why is it important?

Accreditation is a mark of excellence and trust, and this Menopause Workplace Excellence Accreditation is a certification program developed to recognise organisations that actively support and accommodate employees experiencing menopause. It involves implementing policies, educational & training initiatives, and workplace adjustments that enhance inclusivity, and provide necessary support during this transitional phase in a woman's life.

If you would like to be accredited in time for World Menopause Day, on October 18th, 2024 please ensure your application is submitted by Friday, 13th September 2024

ACCREDITATION IN THREE STEPS

The accreditation program operates in three stages: first, register and commit to becoming menopause inclusive by signing up to the 'Menopause Workplace Pledge'; second, submit your application for assessment once you meet the criteria; third, upon approval, receive your Menopause Workplace Excellence Accreditation.

STEP 1

how to commit to menopause workplace excellence

Register with Menopause Hub Academy and make a commitment to menopause workplace excellence. We will schedule a consultation call to guide you through the process. We provide resources and toolkits to help you become menopause inclusive, including:

    • Our suite of CPD-accredited online education programmes
    • Employee guide to menopause
    • Managers toolkit
    • Menopause policy template
    • Regular newsletters
    • Menopause Hub Academy certificate and Menopause Workplace Excellence logo for display on your website while you undergo the accreditation process

STEP 2

achieve accreditation

Below are the stages involved in our accreditation programme:

    1. Self-Assessment: Evaluate policies and practices using our six-point plan. When ready, submit your application for assessment.
    2. Provide Evidence: Offer proof of commitment through written policies, staff feedback, training participation, and more.
    3. Desk-Based Assessment: Our team reviews your application and supporting documents thoroughly.
    4. Pre-Assessment Meeting: Meet with our accreditation team to validate your submission.

STEP 3

Upon approval you will receive a two-year Menopause Workplace Excellence Accreditation. You can display your certificate and digital badge on your website. You will then be listed on The Menopause Hub Academy's register of committed companies. Next, you will receive a media pack and promotional support. You will also be able to access exclusive webinars with the opportunity for engagement with the Menopause Workplace Excellence community. Finally, you can participate in the annual Menopause Workplace Excellence Awards.

MWE accreditation levels

The Menopause Workplace Excellence Accreditation is available in three levels, reflecting your organisation’s progress and commitment to supporting menopausal employees.

Gold Level: Highest recognition for exemplary support, education, and menopause-inclusive workplace practices.

Silver Level: Recognition for organizations with established support and policies for menopause in the workplace.

Bronze Level: Entry-level recognition for organizations beginning their journey towards menopause inclusivity.

Once you have submitted your self-assessment form, plus supporting evidence you will have a follow up meeting with our Assessors. And for those larger employers, there will also be a site visit by our Assessor. Your application will be assessed against our criteria. See below. The allocation of accreditation level, Gold, Silver or Bronze, will be determined by how well you meet the criteria outlined in our application form.

frequently asked questions

  • Every organisation that wishes to become peri/menopause inclusive is eligible to apply, no matter how small or large. Public sector, private sector, nor for profit, for profit, all are eligible. We want as many employers as possible to demonstrate their commitment to supporting colleagues impacted by menopause.

  • Register your interest and we will be in touch to schedule a consultation call to help with the accreditation process. After that we will ask you to submit a Self-Assessment, providing evidence of your menopause workplace programme. Our assessors review all submissions and, depending on the size of your organisation, our assessors may conduct site visits and meetings. Once you have demonstrated that you satisfactorily meet the accreditation criteria you will receive your Menopause Workplace Excellence Accreditation & Certification as well as a report advising next steps to becoming even more menopause inclusive.

    CLOSING DATE IS FRIDAY, 6th SEPTEMBER 2024

  • We use the following criteria to assess each submission:

    • Leadership and Policy

    • Communication and Awareness

    • Supportive Policies and Practices

    • Reasonable Adjustments

    • Training and Education

    • Monitoring, Evaluation & Impact

    Once you register for accreditation, ewill provide more comprehensive details of these criteria.

  • Menopause Hub Academy is the accrediting body. Each submission will be assessed by our accreditation team and validated by an external HR expert/moderator.

    • Your Menopause Workplace Excellence Accreditation is valid for two years, after which you must reapply.

    • You will then receive your Menopause Workplace Excellence certificate and digital badge to display on your website.

    • You will be listed on the Menopause Hub Academy register of highly accredited employers.

    • You will receive a media pack and support from Menopause Hub Academy in promoting your achievements

    • You will receive access to exclusive webinars with the opportunity for engagement with the Menopause Workplace Excellence community.

    • Invitation to participate in the annual Menopause Workplace Excellence Awards in partnership with Great Place To Work

  • The accreditation is valid for two years, thereafter you will need to reapply.

  • We want as many organisations as possible, of varying sizes and scale, to become accredited, which is reflected in our fee structure by employee size
